OCS Project Working Group Conducts Research at Georg Fischer Piping Systems (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd.
On December 17,2025,the OCS Project Working Group, consisting of Meng Qingjun, Director of the Sustainability Department of China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA), and Zhou Yanyan, Assistant Director, conducted a special research visit to Georg Fischer Piping Systems (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as GF). Enterprise representatives including the Director of Operations for GF Industrial & Municipal Solutions China, Manager of Yangzhou Plant, Head of Environmental Sustainability Asia Pacific, EHS Manager China, EHS Manager of Yangzhou Plant, and EHS Manager of Beijing Plant extended a warm reception. Both parties conducted in-depth exchanges around core topics such as the advancement of the OCS Project and the leakage prevention and control management of plastic pellets and other materials, reaching several consensuses.
During the research, company leaders including General Manager Xu and General Manager He accompanied the OCS Project Working Group to visit the production workshop of GF Yangzhou Plant, introducing the factory layout, core production processes, and full-process control measures for the implementation of the OCS Project. Founded in 1802 and headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, GF established its production base in Pudong, Shanghai in 1997. Subsequently, based on business needs, it set up factories in Tongzhou, Beijing and Yangzhou, Jiangsu respectively, among which Yangzhou Plant is the "Super Factory" of GF Industrial & Municipal Solutions in China. As a benchmark enterprise in the plastic piping industry, GF Yangzhou Plant has not only deployed targeted prevention and control plans for potential leakage risk points of plastic pellets and other materials in various production links, but also proactively invested in R&D efforts to iterate and upgrade special leakage prevention facilities, establishing a rigorous risk prevention and control system from the source and effectively achieving zero leakage in key links.
In the exchange, both parties conducted in-depth discussions on the practical difficulties encountered by enterprises in promoting the OCS Project, technical optimization directions, and phased project goals. Combining industry practices, Director Meng Qingjun put forward targeted suggestions such as trying to introduce ionizing fans to reduce the amount of electrostatically adsorbed particles in packaging, and exploring the use of hot runner injection molds to reduce the generation of injection runner scrap. The OCS Project Working Group fully affirmed the outstanding achievements of GF Yangzhou Plant in technological innovation of plastic pellet leakage prevention and standardization of on-site management, and enterprise representatives also shared practical experience in project implementation. This forum clarified the follow-up problem-solving paths and finalized the specific cooperation directions for project advancement, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality implementation of the OCS Project.
In the next stage of work, the OCS Project Working Group will continue to deepen industry research, systematically sort out the common problems faced by enterprises in project implementation, comprehensively summarize and promote the successful experience of outstanding enterprises represented by GF Yangzhou Plant, work with more project enterprises to solve practical difficulties, steadily advance the effective implementation of the OCS Project, and contribute to the green and sustainable development of the plastic industry.
