Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS®) is an international voluntary stewardship program which founded by Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) in 1991 and is managed in partnership with the American Chemistry Council's Plastics Division, as well as 22 other associations around the world to reduce leakage of plastic resins and protect the Marine environment. Every segment of the plastics industry has a role to play — including resin producers, transporters, bulk terminal operators, plastics processors and recyclers — by implementing good housekeeping and containment practices. The message was simple: resin pellets should be contained, reclaimed and/or disposed of properly.

There are more than 5000 membership units in CPPIA, manufacturers of plastic products are encouraged preferentially to use the raw materials and services of the enterprises which participated in OCS® program.
